How many prefectures does Japan have?
Japan has 47 prefectures. They come in four types (one "to" for Tokyo, one "dō" for Hokkaidō, two "fu" for Osaka and Kyoto, and 43 "ken"), but for travel they are all counted together. This map lets you mark each one you have visited and shows how many of the 47 you have been to, plus the percentage.
Which prefectures are on the map?
All 47, from Hokkaidō in the north to Okinawa in the south, including Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Aichi, Fukuoka, and every prefecture in between. You can search by the English name.
Do I need an account to use the Japan prefectures map?
